BUST DIMES
Early and Bust dimes are one of our
specialties. We have
an 1802 in VF in a rare die state,
a few dates from 1798 to 1803 in
low grades, several 1809's,
an
1814 STATESOFAMERICA
in PCGS AU-58! plus others for both 1814 and 1820, 1821 JR-2
and JR-3, 1822,
1824/2, 1828 Large Date, 1833 JR-7, 1834 JR-3, some sets of cuds in varying die
states,
and some high-grade PCGS coins. We are especially pleased to have some
lower grade examples of R-3 thru R-6 varieties for collectors with a budget. Please take the
opportunity to select from multiples of many of the rare varieties. We would like to
acquire dimes such as 1804, 1809, 1822, and any R-6 or rarer varieties.

1798/7 Dime, 16 stars,
JR-1, R3, Fr-2 obv. / VG-10 rev. Only the 8 is visible in the
date, but that is enough to tell that the coin is an 1798/7.
The reverse is always stronger than the obverse on this variety. |

Dime, JR-4 R-4, VLDS with obverse retained cud over star 7 and LIBE(RTY),
Fine with some scratches. Very rare die state; according
to Price there are less than 10 known with the die crack and the Price
coin had the die crack but it had not progressed to the retained cud
state.

If you have any
nice 1809 dimes for sale, please ask for my very high offer!
I believe I have sold more 1809 dimes since the beginning of 2009
(12) than anyone else, including any auction house!
So how did I get 21 1809 dimes (12
sold + 9 in stock)? Is it likely that I bought all of them
at Greysheet bid or less? Or is it much more likely that I
paid close to market value at the time? If the market value
is way over Bid, anyone selling such coins will usually seek out
the highest buyer, not the person only willing to pay Bid.
Pricing of 1809 dimes: My price
for an 1809 dime (or any other coin) is determined by what I think
the coin is worth in the market. I sold a PCGS F-12 1809 dime
earlier this year for around $1,500. The buyer sold it for
around $2,000. The same coin subsequently went on sale for
$2,500. If you are looking for a PCGS F-12 1809 dime for the
$600 quoted in the PCGS Price Guide, how likely is that to happen?
