BUST HALF DIMES
We have nice mid-grade
1794, two 1797 13 star half dimes,
low-grade examples of 1796 thru 1805 EXCEPT the 1802,
and some nice higher rarity and/or high-grade Capped Bust half dimes incl. some
R-7s and R-6s. Also listed below are some great half dimes for those
looking to spend $100 or $200 or less per coin. In fact, there are quite a
few
half dimes priced at $100 or less. Wanted: 1796/5, 1802, and any R-6 or better
varieties.

1794 Half Dime, LM-4 V-4 R-4, PCGS Genuine holder, VF-30 detail.
The late state of the reverse die, with the die crack from the rim
to (STAT)ES to AM(ERICA) becoming a retained cud. Still
much better than most 1794 half dimes. |
$3,500
|
  |
1796 Half Dime, LM-1 R-3, G-4/G-6, damaged, repaired,
polished reverse. Despite the damages, still an acceptable
1796 for a collector on a budget. The 1796 half dime is much
rarer than the 1797 half dime.

1797 13 stars Half Dime, LM-4 V-1 R-6, PCGS G-4.
Details of VG-8, but a few pinscratches probably resulted in the
reduction in grade to G-4. Still a rare coin and especially so
in a PCGS holder. Light
grey toning. |

1797 13 stars Half Dime, LM-4 V-1 R-6, Fine, scratches
(most notable is from back of head below I of LIBERTY through to
ear), also some rim dings. Appears to have been polished in
the past but is retoning. |
$2,350

1797 Half Dime, LM-2 R4,
16 stars, AG-3, rough, near full date, near full lettering.
The coin is the color of the reverse picture, not the obverse
picture.

1800 LM-4 V-4 R-7, EF-40, slight surface roughness.
This variety is identifiable by the distinctive reverse which
includes a double denticle above the E of STATES, and the rightmost
three arrow points are at the same height. This variety was
discovered by Ed Price in 1994. Despite the slight surface
roughness, this coin is much nicer than most of the fewer than 10
pieces known of this variety, and is nicer than the plate coin in
the LM book.
SOLD If you have an 1800 LM-4 or 1800 LM-2 or an 1801 LM-1 you don't know what
to do with, call us for a very strong offer! (It doesn't even
need to be the finest known!)
