Bust Halves
We like Early and Bust halves
that are R-4 and better varieties, and/or have nice eye appeal. We have some XFs and AUs plus some
rare varieties. We have a 1795 which is an
R7+ with 4 known, an 1805 which is
an R-7 with 7 known, several 1806's,
several 1807 Capped Bust halves, an 1836 Reeded Edge in
PCGS VF-35, and several other nice PCGS and NGC
halves. We have nearly 20 halves that are R-4 or better.
We would like to purchase Good thru Fine 1815/2 halves.

  |
1795 Half, O-123a, R-7+,
PCGS VG-10. Has the full cud at the top of the
reverse at (STATE)S OF. According to the Steve Herrman price
reference guide, there are 9 known O-123's and 4 of
these are O-123a's. In other words, a 1795 O-123a is a very
RARE coin! It's rarer than the 1933 double eagle, the 1913
Liberty nickel, the 1804 dollar, the 1894-S dime, etc. |

1808 Half, O-102a, R2, NGC AU-55* CAC, incredibly gorgeous toning.
The pictures are close to the correct colors of the coin, but they
don't show the vibrance, lustre or overall beauty of this coin.
There are some nice toned Capped Bust halves from later years, but a
great toned coin like this one from only the second year of the
series is quite unusual.

1814 Half, O-107"b", R-7(?), EF-40. Die chips on nose and die
crumbling on both "1"s under the flag of the "1". As such, it
is a later die state than the O-107a which does not exhibit the die
crumbling on the "1"s. We love to acquire die states not
listed in the Overton book. The O-107a is listed as R5 in Herrman's guide.

1830 Large O Half, O-122, R-1, NGC AU-58, absolutely fantastic
toning. The nicest Bust half I have ever seen. "Sunnywood"
would be proud of this one. The pictures look nice, but the
coin is far nicer in person. Because of the unbelievably
strong eye appeal of this coin, it is many multiples of "Bid".
I wish one of the people who think every coin is worth Greysheet "Bid"
would offer me a coin like this. I would
happily pay at least 5x "Bid" and probably more.
