1844.  A hoard of over 600 1844 dimes has recently been broken up and the coins are gradually being released into the market.  As a result, the prices of 1844 dimes are declining.  Until the market for 1844 dimes has stabilized, we will not offer any 1844 dimes for sale, nor will we offer to purchase any.
1844 Dime XF-40.  I remember what I said about 1844 dimes, but this coin was irresistible and priced right so I am passing on the savings to the first person who orders it.  Coin Values has it at $1,200 and Greysheet bid is $900.        $1,000

Quantity:
  1858-O Dime, G-4.      $25
Quantity:
1858-S Dime PCGS XF-45.  This coin has the details of an AU coin, but was probably graded at XF-45 because it is toned and without significant lustre.  The 1856-S, 1858-S and 1859-S dimes are all difficult to locate in XF and above and especially so in a PCGS holder.  $4,750
Quantity:
1859 Dime VF-20, pinscratches.      $75
Quantity:
1859-O Dime VF-20.         $90

Quantity:
1860-O Dime, VG-10+ but full LIBERTY, has "J.F.S" counterstamp on obv. and some porosity on rev. (mainly opposite the counterstamp).  The "S" in the counterstamp obscures half of the "0" in the date.  The counterstamp could be part of the "J.F.SMITH" counterstamp listed in Brunk; if not, then it is unlisted.  An interesting coin and the first counterstamped 1860-O dime I have heard of.         ON HOLD   $595
Quantity:
1861 Dime EF-45, Type 1 obv., lt. cleaning, pinscratch right hand to E.  $75
Quantity:

Quantity:
1862 Dime EF-40, obv. rim nick and a small dig next to (STATE)S.  Otherwise, an attractive original coin.        $90
Quantity:
1862-S Dime, VG-8, pinscratches.   $150
Quantity:
1864 Dime, F-12.  Very difficult coin to find circulated.        SOLD $SOLD
Quantity:
1864 Dime, F-12, full LIBERTY, very very very slight bend (coin spins when obverse is face-up), "ONE DIME" weaker as usual for this issue.  If you put your coins in an album, you won't notice the v.v.v.slight bend.   $750
Quantity:
1864-S Dime, VF, sm obv scratches on shield, rough area on rev. from ribbon to rim.        $190
Quantity:
1864-S Dime, F-15/VG-10.             $130
Quantity:
1865 Dime, VG-8.        SOLD  $SOLD
Quantity:
1866 Dime NGC PR-64 toned.         ON HOLD  $1,250
Quantity:
1866 Dime AU-50 business strike.  A very rare coin.  Definitely the Philadelphia Mint coin because the date slopes upward left to right, and definitely the business strike because the upper wheat stalks are joined by a die crack.    Its 8,000 business strike mintage is the second lowest mintage of regular issue dimes from 1796 thru now!        $2,000
Quantity:
1866 Dime VG-8 obv. / Good-4 rev.  In an ANACS Good-4 holder, but definitely better than the stickered grade.  Definitely the Philadelphia Mint coin because the date slopes upward left to right.  Compare with the 1866-S Weak S coin below.  A decent specimen of this rare date for those collectors working on a circulated set of business strikes.       $900

Quantity:

1866 Dime Good-4.  Rare, rare coin.  Definitely the Philadelphia Mint coin because the date slopes upward left to right.  Compare with the 1866-S Weak S coin below.  Obverse is a little stronger as three letters of LIBERTY show, reverse has a weak rim. $775
Quantity:
1866-S Dime EF-45, light microcorrosion on surfaces.  Very weak "S" but it is still an 1866-S.  Many people, especially non-numismatist sellers, would mistakenly call this coin an 1866 Philadelphia Mint dime.  Note that the date sloping downward from left to right identifies the coin as an 1866-S. $495
Quantity:
1867 Dime, VF-20, lightly cleaned, business strike.  The date position with the left edge of the flag of the "1" under the space between stripes 8 and 9 of the shield, confirms that this is the business strike.  A rare coin as there were only 6,000 business strikes minted, which is the lowest mintage of regular issue dimes from 1796 thru now.    $1,800
Quantity:
1868 Dime EF-45, a few pinscratches.  $250
Quantity:
1868 Dime F-12 obv. / VG-8 rev., a few minor scratches. $60
Quantity:
  1868 Dime, G-4.   $25
Quantity:
1868-S Dime, F-15/F-12, some marks, obv. rim smoothed at 1 o'clock.       $115
Quantity:
1868-S Dime, F-12, lt. corrosion, very very slight bend.    $90
Quantity:
1868-S Dime Good-4.       $65
Quantity:
1868-S Dime close to Good-4, cleaned.       $45
Quantity:
1869 Dime Fine-12, Long Flag, F-105a, R4.  Has an obverse dig by E of UNITED and a reverse scratch at 12 o'clock.  Still a decent-looking coin and a difficult date to find.               $125
Quantity:
1869 Dime, F-12/VG-8.       $100
Quantity:
1869-S Dime EF-40, 2 very small obv. digs.      $225
Quantity:
1869-S Dime EF-40, lt. cleaned. $200
Quantity:
1869-S Dime VF-35, some spots.  $200
Quantity:
1869-S Dime, VF, lt. roughness.      $120
Quantity:
  1869-S Dime F-12 obv. / VG-8 rev. $65
Quantity:
1869-S Dime, AG-3, punchmark in center of obv.      $15
Quantity:
1870 Dime VF-20. $55
Quantity:
1871-S Dime AU, sm. obv. scrape. $650 was 725
Quant ity:
1872-CC Dime, NGC VF-30 and it has nice surfaces, which is unusual for an early CC Mint dime. $6,500
Quantity:
1872-CC Dime, XF cleaned obv., corroded rev., only the right "c" of mintmark is visible.  A ground recovery coin.  From the front it looks nice, not so from the back, so it's perfect for an album.  Because of the coin's problems on the reverse, I plan to have this coin authenticated before it is sold.  But you can put it on hold until the authentication is done.        $2,350
Quantity:
1872-CC Dime, PCGS FR-2.  I think it is close to AG-3, but it probably got the Fr-2 grade because only the upper half of right "c" of mintmark is visible.  The coin is in a PCGS holder so you don't have to worry about authenticity.        $1,050
Quantity:
1872-S Dime, PCGS F-15, weak "ONE DIME" as usual.      $395
Quantity:
1873 No Arrows Dime Open 3, VF-30, cleaned, a few pinscratches.  $125
Quantity:
1873 No Arrows Dime Open 3, VF-20, a bit dark, sm. obv. rim bump.   $100
Quantity:
1873-CC Dime, BU as in Beat Up.  Has hits, corrosion, rim bumps, coin isn't round.  On obv. almost all of motto is readable, plus left arrow and date.  On rev. part of the wreath, the mintmark and "E" show.  This is the ugliest coin I have ever offered on this website.  Because of the coin's problems, I plan to have this coin authenticated before it is sold.  But you can put it on hold until the authentication is done.      $1,399
Quantity:
1873-S With Arrows Dime EF-40, ticks in fields.  $275

1874 Dime With Arrows VG-10.  $30
Quantity:
1874-CC Dime EF details, scratched and with some reverse corrosion.  In an NCS holder.  The rarest collectible CC mint Seated dime.  It won't get into a PCGS slab, but it is nicer than most 1874-CC dimes.  $12,000 was 13950
Quantity:
  1875-CC Dime, CC Above Wreath, VG-8.      $50
Quantity:
1875-CC Dime, CC Below Wreath, VF/F, cleaned, pinscratches.     $35
